With opportunities to pursue a wide spectrum of hobbies and interests just moments from home, Engles Mill gives its residents a true taste of what Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

Creekside Park

Close your eyes and picture your perfect park… got it? Odds are, Creekside has whatever’s running through your head. Regulation size volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts are ready to host a pick up game with friends whenever you’d like, and a stretch of open and wooded land is dedicated solely to an 18 hole disc-golf course. Housing two fully outfitted playgrounds for the kids, an extensive paved trail system for walking or biking, and plenty of open fields for picnics or a game of catch as well, Creekside Park is equipped to accommodate a variety of different activities with family, friends, and pets. Creekside has even recently installed a functioning “ninja course” for fans of the hit television series, American Ninja Warrior, in an effort to stand out from other parks in the Fayetteville area. Needless to say, there’s something here for everyone.

Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park

With over 900 acres of preserved land, Prairie Grove is widely known to be one of America’s most intact Civil War battlefields. Serving to commemorate the Battle of Prairie Grove, which took place on December 7, 1862, the State Park offers its guests an unfiltered view of what this decisive battle may have looked like over a hundred years ago. With walking and driving tours, regular programs, and weekend events, Prairie Grove is dedicated to connecting the town to its heritage through recreation and education, as well as maintaining its roots for generations to come. Participate in pioneer games, observe artifacts from the 1800’s, experience infantry routines and more through one of the many programs put on by this park system throughout the year. To top it all off, Prairie Grove provides its guests with a full battle reenactment biennially on even numbered years… this isn’t an occasion you want to miss. Cannon fire and accurate battle progression serve to show spectators what this conflict looked like at the time of occurrence.

Prairie Grove Park System

Located just a few minutes down the road from Engles Mill, the Prairie Grove Park System offers a network of varying developments for local residents, including the local aquatic park for kids and families. Highlighting multiple full size water slides, lap pools and areas for general swimming, this is the ideal park to beat the heat with the family. The aquatic park also offers swimming classes for all ages, as well as water aerobic sessions for anyone aged 13 and up! Not looking to get soaked on your day-trip? Just moments from here is Mock Park, which contains playgrounds, gazebos, walking trails and more for families ready to spend the day comfortable, dry, and outside. Guests here can also enjoy close proximity to a number of local libraries for any avid readers in your home to settle in with a good book.
